Prof. Srikantaswamy has made novel and significant contributions to Materials Science, Environmental Earth Science, Hydrothermal Technique of Crystal growth, especially in the field of Carbon Nanotube. His research is having both novelty and innovation, and has led to a substantial body of published work which has received extensive citations. His most important contributions have been towards the synthesis of new materials for various applications like Photocatalytic, Biological, Electrical, Optical etc. He has also worked extensively on Bioremediation of heavy metals in environment. Prof. Srikantaswamy was invited to work as visiting scientist at Japan during 1998-2001 in Tokyo Institute of Technology and Research Institute of Solvothermal Technology, Takamatsu, Japan and there he carried out research work in the field of Nanotechnology and Carbon Materials. He travelled widely and visit many countries. Apart from the research activities of his own group, Dr. Srikantaswamy has developed several national and international collaborative research programmes. Prof. Srikantaswamy has been admitted as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London, UK. This is a prestigious fellowship awarded by recognition of his academic contribution to the field of Chemical Sciences. Prof. Srikantaswamy received National award Prof. W. D. West Memorial Award in 106th Indian Science Congress held at Jalandar, during January 2019 for the excellent research work in the field of Experimental Minerallogy and Earth’s Materials. He is also Executive Committee member for Indian Science Congress Association comes under Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. His research works, especially on Carbon based material are highly cited. And also, Prof. Srikantaswamy selected for Kannada Rajyostava Award from Mandya, Kannada Sahitya Parishath. He has published more than 250 Research papers in International Journals. Over 5 book chapter and 4 books have published by him in the field of Environmental Science, Materials Science and Earth Science. 24 Research Scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D degree under his guidance and Four research scholars are currently pursuing their Ph.D work under his supervision.
